Full Job Description

This employee will be responsible for overseeing unit activity within Region 3, Unit B.


Job Duties Include:
  • Assisting in the planning/evaluation of violation prevention programs and patrols.
  • Reviewing unit activity and complaints to determine high violation areas and working these areas accordingly.
  • Assigning officers to patrol high activity areas and assisting as needed.
  • Supervising assignments and reporting results to supervisors.
  • Patrolling assigned unit in vehicle, boat, ATV, aircraft and on foot to enforce game, fish boating, littering and other laws.
  • Preparing and presenting evidence for prosecution of cases when necessary.
  • Issuing summons and warnings or making arrests as needed, and assisting unit officers in cases made.
  • Assisting with public relations presentations within the unit as requested.
  • Supervising Conservation Officers, Privates First Class, Lance Corporals, Sergeants, and Deputy Law Enforcement Officers within assigned unit on enforcing all applicable laws.
  • Completing all administrative duties as assigned.
  • Overseeing FTO program within the unit.
  • Reviewing required BWC videos of unit officers.
  • Receiving/disseminating orders from Region Headquarters to subordinates.
  • Responding to/providing oversight at critical incidents within the unit.
  • Inspecting issued equipment.

Requirements

A high school diploma and four (4) years experience as a DNR Class 1 Law Enforcement Officer.

Qualifications

Ability to plan, organize, direct and review the work of subordinates. Considerable knowledge of firearms, automotive, boating, communications and other law enforcement equipment.
