Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as an engineer for the Navy to support and maintain aircraft systems, focusing on modifications, technical analysis, and coordination with teams to keep weapons systems running smoothly.
It's ideal for experienced mechanical or aerospace engineers who enjoy solving complex problems in a military setting and have a background in program management and sustainment.
The role requires strong decision-making skills and the ability to evaluate new engineering approaches.
You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER (MECHNICAL/AEROSPACE) in the FST ENGINEERING DIVISION of FLTREADCEN EAST.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Expertise in Fleet Support Team (FST) Engineering; 2) Developing program sustainment and acquisition engineering support; 3) Effectively managing technical and professional services required to sustain a weapon system; 4) Evaluating new approaches, guides and standards to make engineering decisions.
