Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting engineering projects at a naval facility in California, where you'll help maintain and upgrade industrial equipment to keep production running smoothly without delays.

You'll work with engineers and contractors to review designs, ensure compliance with rules, and manage updates to critical machinery.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.

Provides engineering assistance on issues/ concerns the predictive maintenance program and provides instructions to maintenance mechanics involved in repairs, installation, or testing of critical plant equipment.

2.

Works closely with engineers, production and plant services managers to identify plant equipment critical to production throughout, equipment that creates bottlenecks in work flow and equipment that causes outstanding maintenance expenditures because of unreliability.

3. Utilizes information gathered in the equipment design survey to create or modify motor, gear, belt and bearing databases for complex industrial plant equipment located in San Diego.

  • You will read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD sketches, cross-referencing them with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and technical manuals.
  • You will ensure all industrial plant equipment (IPE) installations meet stringent facilities requirements documents and comply with state and federal codes and regulations
  • You will manage all aspects of facility modernization and SRM projects at FRCSW, serving as the primary technical authority to ensure facility repairs provide seamless support to the end user.
  • You will proactively direct contractor activities through strict adherence to DBIDS and security protocols while utilizing real-time tracking dashboards and digital tools (MAXIMO and CMPro).
  • You will guarantee projects are completed within budget and on-schedule without interrupting depot-level production.
  • You will execute professional technical communication via phone, email, and Microsoft Teams to synchronize project requirements between leadership and the end user.
  • You will maintain expert proficiency in the MS Office Suite to develop the organized reports, briefings, and documentation.
