Information Technology Specialist (Systems Analysis/Systems Administration)

Full Job Description

In this position you will serve as an Information Technology Specialist with primary focus on facility management and control systems and server infrastructure, providing mission support for multiple agencies in a combined services environment.

FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-11 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: Providing IT system administration services and operational support for IT infrastructure including hardware, networking, operating system, storage, or application layer issues in a scientific, laboratory environment.

Manage, configure, support, and implement audio visual technologies used in video teleconferencing, conference room technology, video surveillance, and telemetry as well as supporting VoIP telephony.

Provide operational support, configuration, and planning for Facility-Related Control Systems.

In addition, all applicants qualifying based on experience must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

• The duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Providing expertise in securing and integrating facility management and control systems with IT systems and infrastructure at NBAF.
• Performing work that involves Implementation, configuration, and administration of server systems used to host applications, websites, databases, and services.
• Maintaining hardware and software to ensure availability, security, and functionality of systems.
• Providing system administration for the NBAF IT activities related to various server systems.
• Acting as technical point of contact for any mandatory security Authorization and Accreditations for systems for which they are responsible.
• Participating as a team member or leader along with other IT specialists, customers, or support personnel on system development or redevelopment projects.
