Summary

This job involves providing hands-on IT support to help users with computer hardware, software, and systems in a military family services department on Oahu, Hawaii.

Full Job Description

This position is located at located at Directorate Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR) Information Technology Department, NAF Support Management Branch, Wheeler Army Airfield, HI (Island of Oahu).

A qualified candidate must possess the following: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Work experience, education, and/or specialized intensive training sufficient to demonstrate Information Technology (IT) knowledge and skill in: 1.

Participating in the planning and delivery of a full range of Information Technology (IT) Customer Support Services. 2.

Installing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting hardware and software components. 3. Presenting formal and informal training and assistance to customers. 4.

Reporting, responding to, and resolving customer requests.

QUALIFYING EDUCATION Qualifying education is graduate education in one of the following fields of study: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management; or Technology Management.

OR Has provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, or Technology Management) AND required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS criteria above In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": HIGH QUALIFICATIONS CRITERIA 1.

Must possess and provide a valid CompTIA Security + Certification document.

Major Duties:

  • Under general supervision, performs routine and recurring assignments in the delivery of Information Technology customer support services.
  • Participates in the planning and delivery of a full range of Information Technology customer support services to the organization.
  • Identifies and resolves issues and problems. Prepares and updates manuals, instructions, and operating procedures.
  • Provides information and assistance to customers including system hardware/software installations, configuration, upgrade and troubleshooting.
  • Presents formal and informal training to customers. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles and practices.
