Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves managing and protecting sensitive information in a Navy maintenance center, including classifying documents, ensuring proper handling of confidential data, and following security rules to prevent leaks.
It supports programs for classified and unclassified sensitive info, with tasks like marking papers, secure storage, and reporting issues.
A good fit would be someone with experience in security protocols, attention to detail, and familiarity with government or military data protection.
You will serve as an INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Security Division (Code C1110), Infrastructure Management Division (1100B), Corporate Operations Department (Code 1100) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of DOD and USN security programs and DOD Information Security Program, consistently adhering to all command-level policies and procedures as required by DOD regulations.
Experience interpreting and implementing security policies, providing guidance to the Command, management, and other security specialists, to help in resolving conflicts in security requirements.
Experience understanding and correctly applying special markings for information such as Dissemination Controls and Foreign Government Information, and other specific handling caveats.
Experience identifying and reporting potential classification inconsistencies or errors to the supervisor or Security Manager for resolution, ensuring the integrity of the classification system.
GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience identifying and marking Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) according to DOD and Component-specific guidelines, preventing the mishandling of sensitive data.
Experience conducting thorough self-reviews of all produced materials to ensure 100% accuracy in markings before dissemination, publication, or storage.
Experience demonstrating a clear understanding of the responsibility to immediately report any potential or actual security incidents, such as data spills, lost material, or unsecured containers, to the appropriate security authority.
Experience using computer hardware/software, including programs for security databases, word processing, communications, etc. that are used in the security environment.
