Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting military personnel by managing their records, answering questions about HR matters, and ensuring everything stays up-to-date and accurate at a Navy base in Texas.

No advanced degree is needed, but familiarity with military rules and computer systems is key.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) for the NAS KINGSVILLE TX.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of military policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain military personnel service records; 2) Researching information in military records and databases in order to respond to inquiries regarding military human resources issues; 3) Utilizing automated systems to create and maintain military records; and 4) Communicating effectively, orally and in writing, to interact with leadership and personnel at all levels.

  • You will review, evaluate, and make recommendations on routine, controversial, and complex cases.
  • You will conduct spot checks of the document listings and make appropriate corrections.
  • You will obtain data needed for the completion, verification, and or maintenance of personnel records to keep them current, accurate, and complete in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • You will provide customer service in person, by telephone, and email.
  • You will establish and maintain office files, logs, manuals, listings, regulations, historical files, etc.
