Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing military housing facilities at a Marine Corps base in Japan, including planning projects, handling resident complaints, and ensuring proper use of living spaces for service members.

A good fit would be someone with experience in property or facilities management who can work independently, solve problems, and guide junior staff in a structured environment.

Note that medical and dental care is very limited in this overseas location.

You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGER in the Housing and Billeting Branch ofMARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

  • You will assist in the development of directives, instructions, and procedures for the accomplishment of housing management inspections, and provides guidance to lower graded housing employees including Camp Billeting Managers.
  • You will independently investigate and resolves a variety of complex occupant concerns and complaints related to housing facilities, other occupants, and habitability conditions recommending solutions to controversial situations.
  • You will monitor the assignment of tenants to available adequate quarters using the principle of unit integrity.
  • You will coordinate with Base Property, Base Motors, Facilities Maintenance, and individual units and commands to ensure timely removal of older furnishings and the placement of new furnishings in buildings selected to undergo the Whole Room Concept.
  • You will be implementing management plans and directives concerning the operation, use of housing assets, planning and scheduling, and coordinating all major activities for housing projects and facilities associated with the installation.
