Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading the upkeep and operations of heavy machinery used for highway maintenance in Cambria County, including supervising repair shops, staff, and budgets to keep everything running smoothly.
You'll plan repairs, train operators, and ensure facilities stay organized and safe.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on experience fixing large vehicles who enjoys managing teams and programs in a structured government setting.

In this key role, you will manage the planning and execution of the highway equipment maintenance program within a County Maintenance Organization.
Your responsibilities will include analyzing and developing the County’s fleet model and budget, as well as overseeing the maintenance, repair, and dispatch of heavy construction and automotive equipment.
You will supervise repair facilities and staff, ensuring that buildings, grounds, and storage areas are well-maintained.
Direct management will be provided to mechanic supervisors and shop personnel, and you will also create and implement a preventative maintenance program for both equipment and facilities.
Additionally, you will assess the work of mechanics for quality and efficiency, inspect equipment for maintenance requirements, and develop the County Equipment budget.
Keeping garage facilities clean and organized is crucial, along with managing the equipment operator training and certification program.
You will also need to hold certifications as a 3rd Party CDL examiner and equipment certifier, and oversee the CDL Drug & Alcohol testing program.
