Requirements

As a Highway Foreman 2, you will be responsible for organizing and overseeing a team of workers who operate heavy construction equipment and use hand tools to carry out various highway maintenance tasks. These tasks include repairing cracks and potholes, stabilizing and repairing shoulders, installing and cleaning drainage pipes, installing guide rails, sweeping roadways, picking up litter, widening roadways, investigating and resolving complaints, and coordinating emergency responses to snow and ice, storm damage, or vehicle accidents. Additionally, you will investigate highway-related complaints and respond promptly and appropriately, and review and keep road log records of conditions within assigned area to recommend and assist in effective priority planning of work operations and estimates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
