Summary

This job involves managing and overseeing inventory and supply accountability at a Defense Logistics Agency depot in Texas, including tracking items, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with regulations to keep records accurate and up-to-date.

See below for important information regarding this job. To qualify for a General Supply Specialist, your qualifications must include: A.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Tracks completion and performance for a variety of inventories.

Provides analysis of the location survey program effectiveness, customer complaints, denial management program, document retention compliance and inventory in-transit visibility.

Develops and submits mandatory reports including Inventory Control Effectiveness (ICE) report and Financial Liability Investigation of Property loss (FLIPL).

Researches and resolves local customer problems. B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Accountable Officer (AO) for a DLA Distribution Depot.
  • Coordinates and works with other AOs and distribution centers within the DDC, supply managers at Inventory Control Points (lCPs) and vendors contracted within the supply program to reconcile complex accountability issues.
  • Oversees DoD regulations and DLA policy for the inventory program.
  • Performs studies and system reviews for the DLA Distribution inventory program to make improvements to the accuracy of the physical balance records.
  • Develops Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) for the depot to ensure that performance goals are achieved, problem areas are identified and targeted for improvement, and that the requirements of the DLA Distribution Inventory program are met.
  • Coordinates reconciliations with owners, monitors responses and researches to ensure accountable and financial records are brought into balance.
