Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing the ordering, tracking, and delivery of materials needed to repair and maintain ships at a naval shipyard in Hawaii.

You'll plan and coordinate supply projects to keep production on schedule and ensure everything from tools to parts arrives efficiently.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-09 level or equivalent, including planning and executing material management plans for shipyard or supply programs

  • Ability to order, expedite, review, and inspect materials to support ship repair and alteration schedules

Full Job Description

You will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the Material Sourcing and Execution Support Division, Supply Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

GS-11 Grade Level Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, coordinating and executing material management plans and projects to support shipyard material management and supply programs.

GS-09 Grade Level Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and preparing supply project plans to ensure material requirements are met in support of the execution of shipyard material management and supply programs.

  • You will ensure all material required for repair and alternation of ships are ordered, expedited, reviewed and inspected to support production schedules.
  • You will support the execution of logistics of material, tools, and consumable handling from job planning to execution.
  • You will assist with the development and execution of the planning and coordination of complex material management plans for assigned projects.
  • You will coordinate material from Department of Logistics Agency (DLS) and Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS).
  • You will evaluate the efficiency of shipyard material management and supply programs to support shipyard workload.
  • You will study and evaluate customer requirements, acquisition lead times, storage, inventory, and delivery.
