Base salary range: $41,966 - $54,557
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-6. Bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or 1 year graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves handling day-to-day financial tasks like checking documents for accuracy, managing payroll for military and civilian staff, reconciling accounts, and supporting budget work in a U.S.
Marine Corps office in Japan.
It's a good fit for someone with a couple of years of hands-on experience in accounting or finance who is detail-oriented and comfortable with government rules and procedures.
Note that medical and dental care is very limited in the location, so it's best for those prepared for overseas living.
You will serve as a Financial Technician in the Marine Corps Installations Pacific of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical expertise in accounting, budget and other related financial management work including; examine financial documents for accuracy; maintain and close pay accounts for employees; reconcile accounts and accounting data.
