Base salary range: $37,764 - $49,094

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves handling travel and financial paperwork for the Military Sealift Command, including setting up travel plans, processing payments, and ensuring everything follows military rules.
It's a good fit for someone with office experience who is detail-oriented and comfortable using computer systems for data entry and verification.
Entry-level candidates with basic financial or administrative skills can apply at the GS-05 level, while those with travel-specific experience would suit the GS-06 level.
You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the COMPTROLLER DEPARTMENT (N8), DISBURSING, TRAVEL & PAYROLL (N84), COMPLIANCE & TRAVEL (N842), LIQUIDATION/GTCC (N8421) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
FOR THE GS-06 LEVEL Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE.
Experience utilizing the Defense Travel System the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) with experience in both Travel Order Writing and Travel Order Liquidation.
Experience with extracting data from Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) to verify travel entitlements.
Experience articulating assignment itineraries and training assignment itineraries to the workforce Experience identifying travel restrictions, required travel training, area clearances, and overseas travel arrangements FOR THE GS-05 LEVEL Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE.
Experience with Financial Management Systems Experience with Excel spreadsheets experienced in performing general office duties such as electronic filing, scanning, copying, order supplies.
Experience utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills.
