We are seeking a highly motivated, customer service driven, facilities coordinator to lead the Northeast Region Maintenance Crew and help support parks along the stunning Wasatch Back.

Requirements

  • Inspects and maintains facilities, machinery, equipment, systems, etc.
  • Coordinates and assigns projects to support needs of State Parks along the Wasatch Back.
  • Reviews and/or inspects work for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Schedules and conducts parks inspections.
  • Prepares, manages and tracks budgets, pays invoices and ensures state purchasing laws are followed
  • Supervises a maintenance crew, including training, coaching, overseeing work, writing performance plans, and approving timesheets.
  • Execute HR tasks such as hiring, disciplinary actions, staff development, and recognition.
  • Develops appropriate safety and service plans to alleviate risk, provide protection, etc.
  • Identifies, collaborates and assists in solving maintenance and construction problems and issues.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • A current Class A CDL (or able to obtain one within 6 months of hire)
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means.
  • Skills and training in large equipment operation, including backhoes, skid steers, dump trucks, etc.
  • Skills and training in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, welding, etc.
  • Skills and training, or the willingness to learn close quarters boat operation.
  • An understanding of government operations, rules, policies, purchasing, etc.

Qualifications

  • The ability to supervise others by communicating effectively, establishing work assignments and effectively evaluating work performance.
  • Must have basic computer skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of equipment and facility maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • BA/BS degree in a related field or have at least 4 years of equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of State Park processes and operations.
  • Water system operator training.
  • Backflow prevention training.
  • Close quarters boat operator training.

Additional Information

  • Extensive travel will be required along the Wasatch Back.
  • Some travel will be required to other locations within the state.
  • Housing may be available.
