About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Ramstein Bowling Alley.

Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of bowling lanes and snack bar operations. This position does not offer logisitcal support.

Citizens and legal U.S. residents in Germany. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between Germany and the U.S., you must be a U.S. citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a U.S.

permanent resident card in order to be eligible for NAF employment.

Citizens of Germany (including dual citizenship if Germany is one of the countries) as well as "ordinarily resident" US citizens are not eligible for NAF employment per SOFA agreement.

If not already in the commuting area, must be able to verify the ability to arrive before a firm job offer can be sent.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Work experience in a bowling center is desired; however not required.

Must have experience in responsible clerical, office, or retail work which provided the applicant the ability to perform common arithmetic problems, such as making change when receiving payments from customers.

Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items and use of cash accountability methods.

Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public.

Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of bowling lanes and snack bar operations.

Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Takes reservations for birthday parties, league tournaments and squadron events.

Responsible for manning the customer service desk at the bowling center. Assigns lanes to be used, operates control of console, rents shoes and sells items in the pro shop.

Informs supervisor of equipment reported to be malfunctioning as well as other items needing maintenance or repair. Decorates bowling center for special events or advertised programs.

Ensures activities are properly scheduled, facilities are set up and rules and regulations are observed.

Runs Point of Sales system behind the snack bar, processing customer orders, making change, charging to member's credit card accounts.

Enforces established safety and internal control programs and policies. Posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about bowling events or snack bar and pro shop specials.

As instructed takes inventory of authorized food and pro shop resale items and performs duties outside of normal task and responsibilities in emergency situations.
