Responsibilities of the Facilities Maintenance Manager
Supervise (3) Maintenance Technicians for assigned regions to ensure that all DMV field offices are maintained in proper safe manner, this includes ground, and all areas of the field offices on the exterior and interior.
Working with Capital Project Coordinator and supervising vendors on all projects in assigned regions.
Performs all general construction repairs, preventative and daily maintenance and makes recommendations for future projects.
Manage employee’s performing monthly Field Office Inspections.
Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements- A high school diploma and professional experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment.
Agency Requirements- Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.
Additional Requirements- Effective written and oral communication is required to effectively perform all duties.
- Knowledge of safety practices relevant to Facilities Management.
- Must have the ability to direct trade crews engaged in preventative and daily maintenance, general repair or construction that is not limited to one or more of the following trades skills; carpentry, masonry, electricity, welding, HVAC and plumbing.
- Must have knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies, used in designated trade.
- This position also aids in all Capital Projects within their regions.
- Must be familiar with SC State Procurement Code and Laws.
- Performs planning and managerial duties to supervise (3) skilled trades workers performing repairs, maintenance and construction.
- Employee must be able to work independently and in a team setting.
- This position requires independent thinking and prompt decision making skills to best serve the needs of the DMV.
- Must be able to assist other trades as needed.
- Employee will be required to travel and work in all Field Offices in Regions 1, 5 and 6.
- The employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- This position requires at times the use of ladders and other facilities equipment.
- Employee will be on-call 24-hours to include holidays and weekends.
- This position occasionally requires overnight travel.
Qualifications
Agency Preferred - A high school diploma and five (5) years professional experience in the repairs and maintenance area.
