Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an engineer, scientist, or IT specialist to analyze and support Navy communication and control systems, ensuring they meet technical standards and work seamlessly together.

You'll guide acquisition teams, evaluate risks, and help implement strategies for shore-based platforms in the Navy's information warfare efforts.

It's a good fit for someone with a technical background in engineering or IT who enjoys problem-solving in a military context and has experience ensuring system compliance and integration.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent, demonstrating compliance with technical policies, standards, and processes
  • Strong engineering background with understanding of Navy Shore Command, Control, Communications (C3) platforms and transformational initiatives
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to acquisition organizations and domain-specific advice to Navy leadership
  • Experience ensuring engineering products conform to enterprise-level technical policies, standards, requirements, and processes
  • Skills in overseeing, maintaining, developing, and implementing technical standards for C4I Systems integration and interoperability
  • Capability to provide independent evaluation of technical acceptability, including risk and value assessments
  • Proficiency in interfacing with acquisition, programmatic, and operational authorities to support Navy and joint integration goals

  • You will have a strong engineering background, and an understanding of the major transformational initiatives and challenges of Navy Shore Command, Control, Communications (C3) platforms.
  • You will provide technical guidance and assistance to acquisition organizations, and domain-specific advice to Navy leadership to influence technical strategies, procedures, interests, and plans to implement key IW.
  • You will ensure engineering and technical products are in conformance with applicable enterprise level technical policies, standards, requirements, and processes; and to promulgate lessons learned and best practices.
  • You will oversee, maintain, develop, and implement pertinent technical standards; to ensure C4I Systems integration and interoperability.
  • You will provide independent evaluation of technical acceptability including associated risk and value assessments.
  • You will interface with the appropriate acquisition, programmatic, and operational authorities to ensure integration and interoperability across Navy Shore IW and C4I systems to support Navy and joint integration and interoperability goals.
