This senior-level role involves leading engineering or scientific teams in developing and testing weapon systems for the U.S.
Navy, ensuring projects run smoothly and meet high standards for safety and performance.
You'll advise on technical strategies, mentor junior staff, and oversee everything from design to evaluation of explosive materials and systems.
It's ideal for experienced engineers or scientists with a strong background in defense projects who enjoy guiding teams and solving complex technical challenges.
You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Weapon Systems Development Division (JXP) or Experimentation and Assessment Division (JXR) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.
In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist, overseeing planning and execution of technical engineering or scientific projects involving design, integration, or testing of energetic or weapon systems to ensure sustainment, quality control, and readiness for energetic or weapons programs.
