Entry salary: $74,441 | Full performance (GS-13): up to $115,079

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading engineering and scientific efforts for advanced naval combat systems, particularly the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense system, by overseeing development, testing, certification, and integration with broader defense programs.
A good fit would be an experienced engineer or scientist with a track record of managing teams on complex weapon systems projects, strong leadership skills, and the ability to handle budgets and collaborate with government and industry partners.
It requires a focus on technical oversight and strategic planning in a high-stakes defense environment.
You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Integrated Combat Systems Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-04 (GS 12/13 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience as a professional Engineer or Scientist providing leadership and guidance for Combat System/Combat System Element Engineering, Testing, or Certification.
