This job involves acting as an expert on ballistic missile defense systems for the Navy, focusing on ensuring ships and related equipment are ready for action through planning exercises, solving maintenance problems, and providing technical advice.
It supports high-level defense programs and involves working with various military teams to keep missile defense capabilities operational.
A good fit would be someone with strong experience in naval defense systems, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle complex technical and operational challenges in a team environment.
You will serve as a Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Waterfront Readiness Officer in the Aegis-Based Defense (AB) Program Executive Office of AEGIS BMD.
The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Aegis BMD Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) processes or sustainment efforts to ensure operational readiness of BMD capable ships or Missile Defense System (MDS).
