Bring your experience in electrical work to the Fort Indiantown Gap as an Electrician! We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team in the Division of Installation Maintenance.

Your work will be crucial in maintaining and repairing the electrical infrastructure of the facility and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of its various systems.

Requirements

In this position, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.

Your work will involve locating and correcting power failures and short circuits, as well as running new electrical lines as required or directed.

You will lay out and install electrical conduits for power and lighting, install wiring and lighting fixtures, and replace switches.

Some of your duties will also include reading blueprints, preparing material lists, and maintaining tools and equipment.

Additionally, you will function as a lead worker over assigned helpers who assist in various phases of the work.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs
  • Overtime as needed
  • In this position, you will be considered an essential employee and be required to work during emergencies and office closings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment
  • Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade
