Requirements

As an Electrician 1, you will perform skilled tasks in strict accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Life Safety Code 101, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E. Your responsibilities will include maintaining facility-wide lighting and electrical equipment, verifying pump rotation, and installing conduit, raceways, and devices such as switches and outlets. You will troubleshoot issues with speed and safety, upgrade panels and wiring to meet clinical load demands, and execute preventative maintenance inspections. Additionally, this role requires serving as a lead worker, overseeing lower-level staff and directing a small group to ensure all installations meet hospital standards and safety protocols.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
  • There will be weekend work every 12th week. You will join a 12-person team operating on a rotating weekend and on-call holiday schedule.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid license as a journey-level electrician issued by the local Pennsylvania jurisdiction.
