Job Purpose:
The Curriculum Based Professional Learning Coach will help bring high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) to life in classrooms, supporting educational leaders and districts in their journey toward instructional excellence. This role involves collaborating with curriculum teams to select and evaluate materials, building capacity among educational leaders and district administrators for HQIM integration through dynamic professional development, coaching, and feedback.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the adoption and implementation of high-quality instructional materials that align with state standards.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams to review, evaluate, and select high-quality instructional materials.
• Ensure all materials reflect the current best practices in pedagogy and meet the needs of all students.
• Coordinate the adoption and distribution of instructional materials with school leaders, curriculum specialists, and district administrators.
• Ensure instructional materials align with state and district curriculum standards, including content, pedagogical strategies, and assessment practices.
• Support educators in aligning their instructional practices with established standards.
• Support districts in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement regarding instructional material usage.
• Develop and lead workshops, seminars, and training sessions on the effective use of instructional materials.
• Ensure educators are knowledgeable about materials' features and how to adapt them for student needs.
• Provide coaching sessions to educators on using instructional materials to enhance teaching and learning.
• Offer actionable feedback on lesson design and material selection to promote student success.
• Monitor the effective use of instructional materials providing ongoing feedback and support.
• Conduct observations and provide feedback on instructional material implementation and student engagement.
• Assist leaders in using data to inform decisions about instructional materials and identify areas for enhancement.
• Support the use of formative assessments and data to guide instructional choices.
• Stay informed about the latest trends, research, and developments in instructional materials and curriculum design.
• Share emerging best practices with educators to ensure teaching and learning evolve with new findings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

The position is in the Office of Assessment & Standards.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business.

Qualifications

Ten (10) years of professional experience in K-12 education, with a strong track record of leveraging instructional materials to boost student achievement, and coaching or instructional leadership experience.
