Position Summary:
The School Improvement and Accountability Specialist supports identified schools by guiding improvement planning, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with leadership teams. This role helps ensure schools meet state and federal accountability standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Support development and monitoring of school improvement plans. Provide coaching and technical assistance to school and district teams. Analyze data to inform leadership decisions. Assist with leadership evaluations and development. Maintain documentation and contribute to improvement resources.
Coordinate and lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of South Carolina’s External Review Team (ERT) process.
Support the effective and positive execution of all SCDE school improvement programs through external reviews and school improvement planning.
Collect, analyze, and report district and school-level data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
Represent the Office of Leadership Effectiveness and the SC Department of Education in hearings and meetings with the State Board of Education, the SC General Assembly, and the Education Oversight Committee.
Prepare and submit all required documentation and synopses in accordance with established timelines.
Maintain consistent communication with supervisors and team members regarding work progress, challenges, and upcoming events.
Respond promptly to stakeholder inquiries related to external reviews, reporting, and plan implementation.
Actively seek opportunities to enhance the integration and effectiveness of services across the office and agency.
