Job Description

Summary

This role involves helping lead efforts to plan and position U.S. Marine Corps forces around the world, while shaping high-level defense strategies and policies.

You'll coordinate plans for deploying troops, represent the Marines in top-level meetings with government officials and Congress, and oversee the division's budget and security.

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-14 level or equivalent, including planning and managing global force posture or realignment initiatives

  • Ability to coordinate development and execution of service plans and policies for Marine Corps force organization, deployment, and employment
  • Skills in representing the Marine Corps at senior-level meetings, working groups, and with interagency, government, and Congressional stakeholders
  • Oversight of administrative actions, physical security, and security management programs
  • Supervision of annual budget development and execution for the Global Posture Division

Full Job Description

You will serve as a DEPUTY DIRECTOR in the GLOBAL POSTURE DIVISION of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, developing and managing global force posture or realignment initiatives; AND developing national level strategic guidance and policy such as National Defense Strategy (NDS), National Military Strategy (NMS) or Defense Planning Guidance.

  • You will be responsible for coordinating the development and execution of service plans and policies related to the organization, deployment, and employment of Marine Corps forces in general.
  • You will represent the Marine Corps at senior level meetings and working groups across the Department, the interagency and with governments, and with the Congressional Staff.
  • You will maintain cognizance oversight of the Global Posture Division administrative actions and functions, physical security, and security management program.
  • You will supervise the development and execution of the annual Global Posture Division budget.
