Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm (0800-1630) Monday-Friday (Saturday/Sunday off)

The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the Corrections Specialist 2 – Resolutions Specialist position at the Stafford Creek Corrections Center located in Aberdeen, WA.


The Health Services Manager has direct responsibility of the health services incarcerated individual resolutions program at Stafford Creek Corrections Center.

Resolutions contribute to the agency’s mission to improve public safety by positively changing lives.

To ensure facilitation of this administrative program, this position will report directly to the Health Services Manager/designee and will oversee, coordinate, direct, manage and implement all aspects of the Incarcerated Individuals Grievance Program for Health Services as mandated by the Resolution Program Manual and DOC Policy, Resolution Program, 550.100.


This position works closely with administrative and clinical staff which may also include the Headquarters’ Resolution Program Manager to ensure adherence and compliance to the established protocols and procedures of the Incarcerated Individuals Resolution Program.

Requirements

Facilitate, direct and implement all aspects of the facility’s Offender Grievance Program {OGP}:

  • Implement the program in accordance with DOC’s OGP Manual, and Policy 550.100 as it relates to health services.
  • Responsible for providing the population with relevant documentation, information and access to the resolutions program as it relates to health services.
  • Gather all complaints in accordance with policy from the facility grievance coordinator, review each resolution request to triage any urgent resolutions for immediate attention.

Coordinate duties within the Facility’s Grievance Program:

  • Assign Health Services investigations to appropriate staff.
  • Review documents for compliance.
  • Ensure timely interviews are conducted.

Conduct research, training and analysis:

  • Analyze resolution data reviewing trends within the facility in a timely manner.
  • Provide appropriate data analysis trends reporting to health services management on a regular basis including emergent issues as appropriate.
  • Ensure health services staff and incarcerated individuals are knowledgeable in the resolution program by providing orientation/training.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Supporting health services resolution processing for other locations as needed.
  • Attend health services administrative meetings.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Six (6) years of professional experience providing healthcare case management services in adult or juvenile corrections, social services, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic medical concepts, patient assessment and care planning, medical record management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of resolution, tort, or other investigative processes.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, documenting resolutions, and managing cases efficiently and effectively is essential for ensuring compliance and accountability.

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting or knowledge of health care operations and patient care.

  • Must be able to work in spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Under rare circumstances this position may be required to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.
