The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated Corrections Counselor 1 to join our team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Albion.
By providing counseling services to the inmates, you will make a lasting and positive impact on their lives while preparing them for re-entry into their communities.

In this position, you will provide professional counseling services and casework management to inmates.
Your work will involve conducting individual counseling and assisting inmates in obtaining information regarding employment opportunities and community resources.
You will develop, maintain, and present records and reports for managing an inmate caseload.
Some of your duties will include analyzing interest and aptitude tests, determining recommended programming, and utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment objectives.
Additionally, you will participate in parole planning and make recommendations on re-entry services.
