Base salary range: $51,332 - $66,732

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves helping create and manage educational materials and communication tools for a VA center focused on preventing suicide among veterans, using digital, audio, and online methods.
You'll troubleshoot tech issues, advise on new technologies, and develop strategies to share information effectively through social media, websites, and apps.

This position's location is negotiable after selection but will be located at a VA Medical Center and will work for the Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention at the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System reporting to the Associate Director for Education.
QUALIFICATIONS: To apply for this position, you must have the following qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 9) in Federal Service that includes performing the following duties: Assists Center staff on the application of communication technologies.; Provides advice and consultation on technological capabilities.; Assists with production of education and communication materials including digital, audio and online production management, graphical layout for design, 508 compliance, communities of practice, and the creation of databases.; Troubleshoots communication problems.; Investigates technology changes and improvement costs for budget consideration.; Troubleshooting and providing referrals for technical communication problems.

Major Duties:
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU WILL PHYSICALLY WORK IN A VA MEDICAL IN YOUR LOCAL COMMUTING AREA*** Duties include but may not be limited to: Assists with production of education and communication materials including digital, audio and on-line production management, graphical layout, communities of practice, and creation of databases.
Development, application and management of discussion boards, on-line surveys, interactive education materials, listservs, blogs, cellular phone applications and more.
Ability to produce, synthesize, present and interpret data/reports on the efficiency and effective use of information and communications systems for decision making.
Makes decisions on how best to present specified subject matter information using the full array of social, multimedia, web, etc. forums and techniques.
Assists with developing and implementing internal and external communications strategies and methods and administration of the communications programs of the Center.
