Requirements

In this position, you will provide clerical and office support for the bureau’s six program areas.

Each one handles important processes and situations that have a direct impact on the daily lives and health of all people in Pennsylvania.

This includes asbestos, lead, bedding & upholstery, stuffed toys, private employment licensing, Uniform Construction Code, boiler certification, and more!


With our team, you will:

  • Review and process applications submitted bureau program areas.
  • Process invoice payments and research bureau databases to verify the correct accounts with the payment stubs received from Central Collections.
  • Respond to customer inquiries received via phone calls and emails, providing guidance to the public and information related to their licenses with our division.
  • Support and assist other staff as needed in all six program areas of the bureau.
  • Assist the general public and inspectors with resolving invoice problems, address changes, certificate requests, scheduling inspections, and other office routine processes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
