This job as a Clerical Assistant 3 involves providing customer service, handling paperwork for public records requests, managing printing and mailing orders, and supporting office logistics like vehicle maintenance and parking passes in the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

This position is multi-faceted and interactive. You will have the opportunity to correspond with a variety of staff from areas both within and outside of the PA Department of Education (PDE).
You will learn basic functions of PDE's responsibilities under the PA Right-to-Know Law (RTKL).
Work involves assisting with document redactions in accordance with the RTKL, logging new requests, and informing the PDE Office of Chief Counsel of new requests.
You will also learn how to utilize the PA Publisher; the Commonwealth's online ordering system operated by the Department of General Services (DGS), Bureau of Publications for print, design, and mail services.
You will be responsible for monitoring the resource account associated with duplicating requests and providing creative and conceptual input; identifying available paper stock; as well as providing format options, style, and design of document suggestions to satisfy requesters' business needs in the most cost-effective manner.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
