This work requires the use of typing skills, mathematical calculations, and application of independent judgment, tactfulness in dealing with personnel and the public. Work involves providing secretarial services to nursing personnel. Come join our team and help make a difference!

Requirements

These positions are assigned to the Nursing Administration Office and provides office support to Nursing personnel in the Renner, Greizman, SRTP and Regional Forensic Psychiatric Center as assigned or needed. Order building supplies and equipment. Inputs/edits on the automated scheduler in a timely manner. Distribute patient funds. Provide mailroom coverage when scheduled to ensure mail is processed.

Daily tasks include receiving incoming calls, relaying information. Screen telephone calls and provide direction/guidance as needed. Employee reviews daily sign in/out sheet to verify employee was hired for the shift. Any problems are brought to the RN Supervisor or Nurse Managers attention. Timesheets are scanned and sent to the Timekeeping Department. Maintain documents such as logs, records, schedules, and files.

This employee also provides back-up to the other Clerical Assistant 2s within the Nursing Administration Office as needed/assigned.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 5 days, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
