Requirements

As a Clerk Typist 2 you will provide clerical and office support to your assigned institution. You will be responsible for filing, typing a variety of documents, and inputting data for various departments within the institution. In addition you will be required to operate office equipment and maintain computer databases and records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience with the Microsoft systems (Word/Excel/Outlook, etc.) and other software packages to create and maintain spreadsheets/calendars/documents/rosters etc.
  • Previous experience with various office equipment such as: scanner, printer, fax machine, computer, tablet, telephone, personal communication devices, etc.
  • Previous experience working in an office setting as a clerk and or personal assistant.
  • Previous experience with electronic communication tools/skills, such as video conferencing, and creating meetings in Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
  • Previous experience combining and manipulating documents in Adobe Pro.
  • You must have proficient keyboarding skills.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
