Summary

This job involves providing office support to the Pennsylvania State Police's liquor enforcement team in Altoona, including typing reports, managing electronic systems for tracking incidents, and handling daily administrative tasks to keep things running smoothly.

The Pennsylvania State Police are currently searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 who will provide clerical support and ensure the efficient operation of the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement in the Altoona District Office.

Requirements

In this position the Clerical Assistant 2 will provide clerical and office support including the typing and processing of documents, as well as performing a variety of office functions necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement in the Altoona District Office. Processes various enforcement reports submitted electronically via the Incident Tracking System (ITS) by Liquor Enforcement Officers, Enforcement Officer 3 and District Office Commander or handwritten draft documents utilizing a personal computer. Creates CAD numbers in RMS and enters into ITS. Retrieves information from the PLCB+ Posse. Enters hearing notices in ITS, You must be certified on CLEAN/NCIC to send and retrieve messages as required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements (NSRs):
  • All employees must obtain active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.

Additional Requirements:
  • One year or more of experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • One year or more of experience proofreading and editing various types of materials to ensure numerical and grammatical correctness and completeness.
  • One year or more of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.
  • One year or more of experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets and logs.
  • One year or more of experience working in a position that required processing invoices, payments and managing financial accounts.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
