Requirements

In this Clerical Assistant 3 role, you will provide clerical and office support by reviewing licensure applications for the State Board of Nursing to ensure compliance with the laws, regulations and Board's policies.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing applications for licensure and distributing discrepancy notifications to applicants not meeting requirements.
  • Providing customer service through phone calls and emails.
  • Corresponding with applicants, other boards of nursing, nursing education programs, and persons within the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs (BPOA).
  • Inputting application information into the licensing system.
  • Gathering criteria for licensure, certification, and authorization approval from the laws, rules, and regulations, as well as policies of the Board, for the applications processed by the position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 50% of working days, after the six month probationary period.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
