The Pennsylvania State Police are currently searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide clerical support for the Bureau of Records and Identifications Administrative Office, specifically with tasks associated with the Operational Records Division. Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will provide clerical support to the Operational Records Division with the Bureau of Records and Identifications. Specific duties of the position include serving as a timekeeper for the Bureau which includes processing payroll-related transactions through SAP, as well as reviewing payroll reports to monitor various types of leave, and have a complete understanding of paid leave, leaves without pay, shift differential, overtime, and higher-class activity pay. Processes and reconciles the Operational Records Division purchasing card accounts and orders supplies for the Division through W.B. Mason as required. Additional duties include serving as receptionist and answering telephone calls for the Bureau; directing callers to the proper area both within the Bureau and Department, and processing incoming and outgoing mail.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • Two years or more of customer service experience.
  • Two years or more data entry experience.
  • You must be willing to work onsite full-time. Teleworking is not an option as part of this position's work schedule.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
