The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 who will be responsible for processing basic motor vehicle and driver licensing applications from the general public over the counter in a face-to-face environment. Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will use basic knowledge of Motor Vehicle Code, procedures and regulations adopted by the Department of Transportation pertaining to registration and licensing. You will examine and distribute driver licenses and registration credentials to customers after verifying identity at the counter designated pick-up window. Duties also include examining and processing bureau forms to ensure proper issuance of replacement or corrections to motor vehicle and driver license credentials using a personal computer. This includes, but is not limited to duplicate titles, registration plates, cards, and placards for persons with disabilities, driver’s license and motor vehicle registration renewals and non-driver identification renewals or replacements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $38,515 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
