Full Job Description

This position is part of the Office of Legacy Management, Department of Energy.

As a Chief of Staff, you will execute a wide variety of executive priorities for the Director and Deputy while directing internal processes and coordination activities relevant to the operations of the Office of Legacy Management (LM) mission.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Leading and executing advanced analyses of programs or operations to improve organizational performance and compliance.

Interpreting and applying government or organizational policies and regulations to guide programs and advise senior management.

Creating and presenting complex reports, analyses, or briefings to executive leadership and key stakeholders. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Veterans shape the future of energy As a Chief of Staff, you will: Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned Department of Energy (DOE) programs and functions, providing information, advice, and recommendations to senior management.

Develop, manage, and maintain programming data and information systems, including specifications, data gathering, analytical techniques, and evaluation methodologies.

Interpret, review, and analyze basic legislation, broad agency policy statements, regulations, procedures, and system requirements to determine their impact on operations and ensures effective application.

Serve as a technical and management advisor to executives, offering guidance on appropriate analytical and evaluation methods and problem resolution.

Coordinate, develop, and oversee the implementation of interrelated, multi-faceted substantive assignments of extensive breadth, often leading efforts with other analysts and subject-matter specialists.

Identify and evaluate new or modified administrative program policies, regulations, goals, or objectives for use in managing and directing programs.
