This role involves leading the development of data strategies and AI initiatives for Pennsylvania's government, focusing on making data reliable, secure, and useful for improving public services.
You'll guide teams, influence stakeholders across agencies, and ensure everything follows ethical and legal standards without having direct control over them.
It's ideal for an experienced leader passionate about technology's role in government who excels at building consensus and driving innovation.
Are you a forward-thinking executive, eager to lead enterprise data and artificial intelligence (AI) strategies?
As a Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer, you will have the opportunity to shape how technology, analytics, and ethics come together to transform operations and define the future of data-driven public service.
Apply now to collaborate with management and integrate AI into day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and best practices!

As a Chief Data and AI Officer, you will be responsible for establishing and advancing the data foundations necessary to enable the Commonwealth to responsibly scale the use of AI.
Work involves setting enterprise data management strategies; defining governance, standards, and architectures for data quality, interoperability, privacy, security, and ethics; and ensuring data assets are trustworthy, accessible, and fit for advanced analytics and AI use cases.
You will have the opportunity to serve as the Commonwealth’s senior authority on data and AI, working across delivery centers, agencies, program areas, legal, security, and external partners.
Work requires leading primarily through influence rather than direct authority, aligning diverse stakeholders around shared standards and outcomes, and building and sustaining high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
Work is assigned in the form of strategic goals and objectives and is reviewed by executive leadership for results attained, regulatory compliance, and enterprise impact.
