Summary
This job involves overseeing the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and utilities at a correctional facility, including planning preventive programs, handling emergencies, and managing a team of workers and inmates.

Full Job Description
Plan, develop, coordinate, implement and supervise the daily emergency maintenance/repair programs for a level ii institution.
Develop maintenance plans and procedures for buildings, utilities, grounds, services, installed equipment, etc.
Determine requirements, obtain required materials/equipment and assign work.
Establish on-call Procedures to respond to emergency maintenance and repair calls and ensure the work is promptly and properly performed.
Develop/implement preventive maintenance program for the institution.
Determine items requiring periodic pm and develop check list for each item.
Schedule and follow up to ensure PM's are completed as required. Develop plan and cost estimate, determine schedule and obtain materials, supplies & equipment.
Select, orient, train, and evaluate new employees/inmates.
Responsible for maintenance/testing of water distribution and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
