This temporary part-time role involves working as an on-call psychiatrist at a state psychiatric hospital in South Carolina, providing evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments for patients during nights, weekends, and holidays.
You'll respond to urgent calls, review patient charts, order tests and medications, and handle situations like seclusion or restraints to support mental health care.
It's ideal for a licensed psychiatrist with residency experience who is flexible, compassionate, and committed to helping people in crisis achieve better wellness.
Serve as on-call psychiatrist for HPH. Respond to calls from clinical staff regarding patient or other medical concerns.
When in house as Officer of the Day/Officer of the Night, make daily lodge rounds to follow up on established medical or psychiatric concerns or to evaluate new medical or psychiatric concernsabout HPH patients.
Review charts to note medical, nursing, and other clinical service entries, vital signs, labs, and other clinical data to formulate assessmentand treatment plan for psyschiatric and medical problems.
Order medications, labs, referrals, or other tests or treatments. Evaluate patient progress and rendertreatment as indicated.
Provide orders for the intervention when patients require seclusion or restraint. Perform LPP (Licensed Prescribing Practitioner) face to face evaluation when in the facility.
Initiate any needed treatment to minimize the length or frequency of these interventions. Participate in debriefing or treatment team meetings when necessary,
