About the Position: This position is located within the Director of Resource Management at the Womack Medical Center in Fort Liberty, NC.

Incumbent will serve as the Defense Travel System (DTS) Administrator/Financial Administrator (DTA/DTFA) for the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) responsible for managing the budgetary and administrative aspects of temporary duty travel (TDY).

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes tracking Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) financial documents for an organization; coordinating with approving officials on employees travel request; providing guidance to officials and employees on the documents needed for travel; reviewing card activity logs to for compliance with use and/or misuse; utilizing travel systems to input and process budget data for the approved travel.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Assist employees in preparing temporary duty travel (TDY) vouchers and documents.
  • Review Travel Authorizations and Vouchers for complete and correct information.
  • Maintain Defense Travel System (DTS) files according to established guidelines to protect sensitive data in accordance with the Defense Travel System Privacy Act.
  • Prepare and reconcile financial reports for employee's TDY.
  • Activate or deactivate cardholder accounts as directed.
  • Review monthly delinquent accounts and reports to department chief of card holder responsible for the account.
