Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B.
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
AND Minimum Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing and supporting quality assurance materials, assist in designing and implementing biochemical and/or molecular screening methods, analyzing data and providing technical guidance and support to partners.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
As a Biologist, you will: Perform biological science work or support work in various scientific and public health areas associated with numerous biological agents.
Responsible for knowing and carrying out guidelines and regulations related to proper handling and storage of various biological materials.
Calibrate and operate laboratory instruments that are necessary to independently perform tests, analyses and other procedures in conducting experiments and studies.
Prepare and deliver written and oral reports to a variety of individuals and groups in both informal and formal settings. Respond to questions for inclusion in a comprehensive report on study findings.
