Full Job Description

This position is the Administrative Support Assistant (ASA), functioning as administrative partner for the Supervisory Administrative Specialist and Director for Community and Residential Care Services (CRCS).

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 02/23/2026.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-5) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions (i.e., internal activities or functions such as supply, budget, procurement, or personnel which serve to facilitate line or program operations); knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources (people, money, or equipment) in the area studied; knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the organization.

Major Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for assisting in managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning including milestones, scope, development and design for the multiple programs of the Section.

Perform a full-realm of administrative services including budget administrative management which require independent analytical ability, judgment, discretion and knowledge of the Community and Residential Care Services Section.

Assists the Supervisory Administrative Specialist and clinical leadership with identifying significant trends and issues that affect the overall Community and Residential Care Services Section's effectiveness and productivity.

Provide operational alternatives and developing recommendations for management consideration.

Serves as the front line manager for budget, training, and infrastructure prepare reports, justifications, charts and graphs for statistical and narrative data for briefings and presentations to internal management, community officials, and VA officials.

Applies analytical knowledge and skill in evaluating various support for the Community and Residential Care Services. Perform other related duties as assigned.
