The primary purpose of the incumbent is to coordinate the administrative duties of Social Work Service in order to guarantee the primary goal of optimally delivering high-quality care to the veteran.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.

Major Duties:
The Administrative Officer (AO) will oversee all hospital functions that are the responsibility of Social Work Service related to Performance Measures, Access to Care, Quality Management, Fiscal, contracting, equipment, customer satisfaction, and personnel actions related to FTE.
Administrative responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Monitoring service specific performance measures, clinic access, consult and encounter processing.
Assists supervisors, faculty, and staff in projecting needed changes based on data and recommends appropriate actions to improve performance.
Familiar with the consult management process and the encounters completion to ensure that staff follows business rules in managing consults, capturing work load, and takes necessary corrective actions to resolve any issues.
Responsible for employee motivation, productivity, morale, and the incentive award efforts. Provides guidance and direction to the licensed staff regarding VHA directives, policy, MCM's and SOP'S.
Coordinates with Human Resource Management Service on all matters affecting employee personnel actions.
Responsible for the management of resources including authorized 86 FTE, overtime and fund control points to ensure that resources are within established ceilings and guidelines.
