The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking an Administrative Officer 1 to join our team at State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Somerset.

Requirements

In this position, you will coordinate the institution’s compliance with departmental policy, the internal Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) response plan, and federal PREA standards.

Your work will involve coordinating the availability of records and files to assist the PREA Compliance Manager (PCM) in preparing and distributing confidential reports.

You will schedule Sexual Abuse Incident Review Committee meetings and assist the PCM in preparing monthly and annual reports for submission.

Some of your duties will include serving as a point of contact for other institutions with regards to PREA as well as Victim Services, as well as maintaining documentation required for PREA audits and mock audits.

Additionally, you will ensure training records are maintained and document all sexual abuse and sexual harassment allegations made within the institution.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
