Full Job Description

This vacancy is for a GS-0303-8, Administrative Assistant (Office Automation) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.

Coast Guard, CG NVDC COMMERCIAL VESSEL DOCUMENTATION DIVISION -NVDC-1 in FALLING WATERS, West Virginia.

To qualify at the GS-08 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Serving as an administrator responsible for general management and execution of administrative functions; Managing all day-to-day actions of the office, both routine and ususal.

Reviewing outgoing correspondence to ensure it is properly prepared, complete, and grammar is correct.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

You will serve as a Administrative Assistant (Office Automation) and be responsible for overall general management and execution of administrative functions.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Review outgoing correspondence.

Using a variety of software to include word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. Primary contact for calls and visitors to the NVDC front office. Lead for employee time and attendance.

Manages Bowater, Lease Financing and Oil Spill Response files, leveraging expiration dates to issue reminder notices and ensure timely receipt of required responses.
