Full Job Description


The Midlands Technical College Humanities Department is looking for an in-person SPC: 205 Public Speaking faculty position that will be required to teach classes at multiple campuses and off-campus sites, including high schools. The position will also have opportunities to teach online contingent on enrollment and demand. Duties include conducting appropriate learning activities, maintaining effective instructional management, participating in all required orientations, meetings, and trainings, adhering to all college-designated deadlines, and participating in Student Learning Outcomes assessment. Position may include travel to off-campus sites and eligible for mileage reimbursement.

This position is located on various Midlands Technical College campuses in the Humanities department.

Requirements

Master of Arts in Speech Communication; or Master of Arts plus 18 hours in Speech, Speech Communication, or a related field.

Qualifications

Past experience in teaching introductory college-level public speaking courses, especially in the community college setting, is preferred.

Additional Information

Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College’s established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,914.65 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
