Job Description
Summary
This job is for a part-time teacher who will lead introductory English composition classes for a mix of students, including high schoolers in early college programs, at different times and places.
The role focuses on using engaging teaching methods to help students learn and stick with their studies, while grading through online tools and contributing to program improvements.
It's ideal for someone passionate about English with experience teaching adults or diverse groups in a community college setting.
Key Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in English, Secondary English, English Education, Language Arts, or Literature, with demonstrated teaching competence
- Master’s degree in English, Language Arts, English Education, or Literature (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations across ages, abilities, nationalities, and cultures
- Teaching experience at a two-year college or in adult education
- Experience using instructional technology and innovative teaching strategies
- Proficiency in using a learning management system for grading and instruction
- Willingness to teach at various locations and schedules during daytime hours
