This job is for a part-time instructor who teaches Spanish classes to students in various programs at a community college in South Carolina, handling everything from lesson planning and classroom teaching to grading and student support.

Full Job Description

Job Purpose:

Teach Spanish courses to students in all academic programs at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.

Job Duties:

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
  • Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis.
  • Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and progress in our online LMS.

Instructional Development

  • Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
  • Work with other areas of the college, such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success.
  • Prepare reports in cooperation with Division Dean for input in planning/reporting system and/or for submission to the accrediting body of the College or program.

Professional Development

  • Attend relevant professional meetings.
  • Represent the College positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Spanish or Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Spanish or closely related field required. Transcripts required upon contact.

Qualifications

Master Degree in Spanish and two (2) years teaching experience is preferred.
